The spider lily is made with bleached and dyed maple.  The stamens are madrone and the leaves are poplar.  The background is curly quilted cherry and a shimmering tiger koa border around it.  This picture has a richness to it which is due to the shine in the cherry and the koa.

This tulip poplar flower sprig is made of a walnut stem, poplar leaves and flower and orange dyed veneer for the center of the flower.  The stamens are holly.  The background is walnut with an anigre border.

The lovely green border is a natural poplar.  The background is walnut as well as the twig.  The flower is holly which has been dipped in hot sand to form the subtle shadows on the bracts and the individual flowers in the center.

This lovely little picture is my interpretation of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  I tried to keep it as "natural" as possible by including a lot of natural wood grain.  The border is beech, the background is walnut and the hills are made up of several different types of oak.  The tree and ground are walnut and the sky is ash.

This landscape is of the valley view from the John C. Folk School.  It has several different species of wood depicting the different elements of the design, including amboyna, ash, locust, koto and poplar.  The border is oak.

The leaves of the poppy are made up of several pieces of yellow poplar and the flowers are dyed yellow veneers.  The lovely background is a walnut crotch.

This picture works nicely with D108 Chicory (below) as a pair as they are framed the same and the same size.

The leaves of the rose are yellow polar and turtleback poplar on a maple pommele background.  The rose petals were created by using different species or red woods like Indian rosewood, makore and cherry.

The lily is maple pommel.  The shading in the center of the flower and the tips are done by charring the veneer in hot sand, thus creating shadows.  The background is walnut burl and the border is a striking tiger-stripe maple.

I have 3 more of these, all a little different, forming a set.

This was one of a set of 3 daisies.  This daisy is made of satinwood.  The shading is created by dipping the veneer in hot sand, which chars the edges, thus creating a show.  The background veneer is redwood burl and the border is figured sycamore.

The border on this picture is koa and the picture is made up of poplar, walnut, madrone burl and imboya.
